Cross-Border Localization Strategy
Develop a localization strategy that adapts what must change while protecting what creates value.
Service Description
Entering a new market sometimes requires more than identifying what needs to change. The harder task is determining how to adapt an established proposition while preserving what makes it valuable. Cross-Border Localization Strategy is a 6–8 week strategic engagement for organizations taking an established product, service, methodology, business proposition, or other IP into China or Southeast Asia. TLGI works with your leadership team to develop the localized proposition itself: determining what should remain consistent, what should adapt, how those choices fit the new context, and what they mean for implementation. The outcome is a defined localization strategy that gives your organization a practical foundation for decisions about positioning, messaging, partnerships, customer relationships, and implementation. The engagement begins with materials review and a 90-minute leadership discovery session. TLGI then undertakes independent analysis and strategic development, with two 90-minute working sessions used to test choices, examine trade-offs, and refine the emerging proposition. You will receive a 15–20 page Cross-Border Localization Strategy documenting the localized proposition, major strategic choices, areas of consistency and adaptation, outstanding validation needs, and implementation priorities. A final 90-minute executive alignment session establishes how the strategy should guide subsequent work. The engagement includes: * 6–8 weeks of strategic development * Pre-engagement intake and materials review * 90-minute leadership discovery session * Independent TLGI analysis and strategy development * Two 90-minute working sessions * 15–20 page Cross-Border Localization Strategy * 90-minute executive alignment session * Review of up to two early implementation decisions or materials * 30 days of limited advisory follow-up Best for: organizations committed to bringing an established proposition into China or Southeast Asia and needing senior strategic support to determine how it should work in the new context. A prior Cross-Border IP Localization Audit is not required. Organizations with sufficient existing research and clarity may begin directly with this engagement following an initial scoping discussion. This is strategic development, not outsourced implementation. TLGI develops the localization strategy with your leadership team and helps test its early application; specialist and ongoing implementation work remains separately scoped.
